Bible Facts

I read some of Job (widely regarded to be the oldest book in the Bible) the other night and I was surprised to find the shortest verse in the Bible. I always thought it was John 11:35 ("Jesus wept."). But no, in my NIV (New International Version, the most popular modern translation) Bible it is Job 3:2 ("He said.").

I expect the other facts I learned in my youth are still valid:

Longest chapter: Psalm 119
Shortest chapter: Psalm 117
Longest verse: Esther 8:9
Longest book: Psalms
Shortest book: 2 John
